Job summary

Mediix in Darwin seeks an experienced Consultant Paediatrician to join its busy Child Health Service, delivering specialist care across inpatient, neonatal, emergency and outpatient settings, with outreach via telehealth.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, contribute to teaching, quality improvement, and culturally safe care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, with on-call duties and regional outreach.

Qualifications

• FRACP in General Paediatrics or equivalent is required or expected.
• AHPRA Specialist Registration or eligibility is required.
• Experience in acute paediatrics and neonatal resuscitation is essential.
• Interest or background in Indigenous health and rural/remote paediatrics is highly regarded.
• Collaborative, adaptable and culturally respectful approach; teaching and capacity-building valued.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist-level paediatric care for infants, children and adolescents.
• Participate in on-call roster for paediatric emergencies and neonatal cover.
• Support outreach clinics to regional and remote communities.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing and allied health teams in a multidisciplinary model.
• Provide clinical supervision and teaching to registrars and junior doctors.
• Contribute to quality improvement, governance and service development.
• Deliver culturally safe, family-centred care with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

You will join a skilled team providing paediatric care across:

• A busy paediatric inpatient unit
• Special Care Nursery / neonatal resuscitation
• Paediatric emergency consults
• Outpatient and specialty clinics
• Remote and rural outreach (in-person and via telehealth)

About You

We are seeking a Paediatrician who brings:
