Job summary

Intelligen Pty Ltd is expanding its Sydney consulting team to deliver modern data platforms. We’re seeking experienced dbt/Snowflake data engineers who can re‑engineer, optimise, and domain‑align data models and pipelines.

You will join an integrated Intelligen team working with architects, senior consultants, and client stakeholders. This role is ideal for hands‑on, delivery‑driven engineers in fast‑moving projects.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years’ experience in data engineering.
• Strong hands‑on ETL expertise.
• Solid Snowflake experience including schema design, performance tuning, and warehousing best practices.
• Ideally experience with SQL, data modelling (dimensional/domain), and modern data stack tooling.
• Ability to operate in “doer mode” and deliver quickly in line with standards.
• Consulting experience is a plus but not required; strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Re‑engineer and refactor existing dbt models to align with domain‑driven design principles.
• Snowflake schema design, performance tuning, and warehousing best practices.
• Contribute to solution design, technical decisions, and modelling best practices.
• Collaborate with client data teams to ensure maintainability, performance, and lineage clarity.
• Support CI/CD, testing, and documentation of data engineering projects.
• Work with Intelligen consulting practice as part of a multi‑resource delivery team.
• Contribute to ongoing engagements beyond the initial project.

About the Role

We’re looking for multiple Data Engineers with strong experience in ETL and DWH technologies, inc. dbt and Snowflake, ideally with data modelling capabilities.

You’ll be part of an integrated Intelligen consulting team, working closely with our architects, senior consultants, and client‑side technical stakeholders. This role is ideal for engineers who are hands‑on, delivery‑driven, and comfortable working in fast‑moving, iterative project environments.

What You’ll Do

• Re‑engineer and refactor existing dbt models to align with domain‑driven design principles.
• Solid Snowflake experience is essential, including schema design, performance tuning, and warehousing best practices.
• Contribute to solution design, technical decisions, and modelling best practices
• Work closely with client data teams to ensure maintainability, performance, and clarity of lineage.
• Support CI/CD, testing, and documentation of all aspects of data engineering projects.
• Collaborate with the broader Intelligen consulting practice as part of a multi‑resource delivery team.
• Contribute to ongoing consulting engagements beyond the initial project as part of our integrated consulting pool.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years’ experience in data engineering.
• Strong, hands‑on ETL expertise
• Solid Snowflake experience, including schema design, performance tuning, and warehousing best practices.
• Ideally experience with SQL, data modelling (dimensional/domain), and modern data stack tooling.
• Ability to operate in “doer mode”, comfortable rolling up sleeves and delivering quickly in line with agreed standards.
• Consulting experience is a plus but not required; strong communication and problem‑solving skills are essential.

• Strong, practical Snowflake engineering experience (the strongest requirement)
• Advanced dbt capability
• Ability to deliver independently within a structured consulting engagement.
