Job summary

Monash Health is seeking Consultant Anaesthetists to provide high-quality anaesthetic services across multiple Monash Health sites including Casey, Clayton and Monash Children's hospitals. A significant EFT is available with a mix of fractional and full-time positions, requiring a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Applicants should hold AHPRA Specialist Registration and ANZCA Fellowship, with experience in quality assurance and paediatric scope prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).
• Experience in clinical quality assurance and improvement processes.
• For full Paediatric scope, a 12 month fellowship in a recognised tertiary Paediatric hospital is required.
• A valid Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required for all medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care across Monash Health sites.
• Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison regarding patient care.
• Support academic, research, education, training and supervision roles in the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine.
• Contribute to service improvement and workforce innovation to ensure high-quality anaesthetic services.

Job description

About Monash Anaesthesia

Providing anaesthetic support to 8 Monash Health facilities, Monash Health currently employs over 150 Specialist Anaesthetists and supports the Monash/Southern Anaesthetic training program, with close to 100 trainees. We cover an extensive range of tertiary surgical disciplines.

Monash Health is looking for Consultant Anaesthetists to work within Monash Health alongside other anaesthetists working at Dandenong and Cranbourne ICC, Casey, Clayton, Moorabbin and Monash Children's hospitals.

A significant EFT is available, with a combination of Fractional and Full time positions, with the positions requiring a minimum commitment to Monash Health of 20 hours per week.

Applications with a preference and availability to work at Casey Hospital will be highly regarded.

About the Role

To support and assist the Service Medical Director and Heads of Unit of Anaesthesia in the provision of high quality anaesthetic services across Monash health sites, consistent with Monash Health values.

Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.

Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.

Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Monash Health.

Contribute to the professional and corporate life in Victoria's largest public health service by participation in appropriate committees and educational platforms.

Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible anaesthetic services

About You

What you need:

Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
