Southern Adelaide Local Health Network in Adelaide, SA, seeks an Addiction Medicine Consultant to lead clinical services for complex alcohol or other drug conditions. The role focuses on program development, medical education, and advisory support to clinicians and organizations.

You will participate in audits, safety initiatives and teaching, with responsibility to the Clinic Manager across SALHN sites. This is a part-time contract across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
• Fellowship in Addiction Medicine and AHPRA registration as Addiction Medicine Specialist.
• Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Addiction Medicine.

Responsabilités

• Provision of direct clinical services to clients of DASSA.
• Involvement in development of medical programs and teaching of staff and students.
• Providing specialist medical advice to internal and external clinicians.

About the role

Reporting to the local Clinic Manager, this role is responsible for the provision of effective and appropriate medical services to clients of DASSA.

• provision of direct clinical services,
• involvement in the development of appropriate medical programs,
• involvement in the teaching of medical staff, medical and other students,
• provision of specialist medical advice to internal and external clinicians and organizations,
• participation in clinical audit and quality, safety and clinical risk management activities and research and continuous medical education activities

About you

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent,
• Fellowship- Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine and registrable with the Medical Board Of Australia/AHPRA as an Addiction Medicine Specialist,
• Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Addiction Medicine,
• Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
