Construction Trainer /Assessor – Perth Based

This position is Perth (WA) based and you must be willing to relocate.

Skills Australia Institute (SAI) is a leading vocational education and training provider in Australia, offering a range of nationally recognised courses. With campuses in Perth and Adelaide, SAI specialises in fields such as Business, Hospitality, Childcare, Carpentry, Bricklaying, Tilling, IT and Automotive, empowering students with practical skills and industry knowledge.

The Opportunity

Due to our ongoing growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and passionate Construction Trainers & Assessor to deliver the following qualifications. This position is Perth based and you must be willing to relocate.

  • CPC33020 Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying
  • CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling
  • CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry

SAI is looking for the following attributes in the trainer’s profile.

  • Hold TAE40122 Cert IV in TAE or equivalent, or willing to obtain one (financial support will be provided).
  • Must be able to provide evidence of industry experience.
  • Course will be delivered on site in East Cannington (WA 6107).
  • Relocation allowance is available for an enthusiastic & talented candidate.
  • Able to complete all marking/assessment within 2 weeks of training delivery.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Using our LMS platform to deliver digital content while embedding your own unique, industry‑relevant experiences to enrich the learning environment.
  • Marking students’ assessments and providing quality feedback.
  • Arranging and conducting WBT visits.
  • Ensuring up‑to‑date industry currency.
  • Complying with industry‑specific legislation and the requirements of the VET Quality Framework applicable to the qualification being delivered.
  • Accurately recording, tracking and reporting students’ attendance, results and unit outcomes.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Willing to do TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Must have relevant qualifications at the level of teaching.
  • Current industry skills/experience in relevant industry.
  • Ability to follow RTO policies & procedures.
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Highly organised and strong time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
