Job summary

Simonds Homes in Geelong, VIC invites a Construction Supervisor to join our West region team. You will manage a portfolio of home builds from site start to handover, coordinating trades, liaising with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring builds meet quality, time, and budget targets while complying with OH&S.

You'll bring experience in residential construction, a White Card, a valid driver's licence, and strong trade network development, with a hands-on approach and commitment to team

Qualifications

• Experience supervising residential home builds.
• Strong knowledge of Australian building regulations and WHS/QA systems.
• Hold General Construction Induction Card/White Card (mandatory).
• Valid driver's licence (mandatory).
• Solid project management and trade-network development skills.
• Ability to communicate with diverse customer groups and deliver excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage trades, establishing a reliable trade base.
• Oversee a portfolio of home builds from site start through final inspection.
• Build strong relationships with clients, trades and stakeholders.
• Ensure building practices, quality, timeframes and budget targets are met.
• Enforce OH&S regulations on site and complete paperwork/admin tasks.
• Provide weekly KPI reporting.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Construction Supervisor to join our team in working across the greater West region from Geelong to Colac,on a full-time, on-going basis. As a Construction Supervisor, your primary focus is to manage a portfolio of home builds from site start through to the final inspection and maintenance stage. Reporting to the Regional Building Manager, some key accountabilities of this role include:

• Coordinate and manage trades, establish a reliable trade base
• Build strong and ongoing working relationships with clients, trades and key stakeholders
• Ensure correct building practices and procedures are adhered to at all times
• Ensure quality homes are built within set time frames and budgeted guidelines
• Enforce and adhere to OH&S regulations
• Day to day management of trades on site, suppliers, completion of paperwork and other admin tasks
• Weekly KPI reporting

WHO YOU ARE

Ideally, we're looking for someone who has:

• Experience supervising residential home builds, residential construction experience and/or a strong trade background (but more importantly, an eagerness to learn and be a part of a cohesive team)
• A thorough understanding of Australian building regulations, WHSE regulations and Quality Assurance (QA) systems (mandatory)
• Have completed the General Construction Induction Course/White Card (mandatory)
• Hold a valid driver's licence (mandatory)
• Solid project management skills, including experience in managing and developing a trade network
• Able to effectively communicate with a diverse customer group, including what it means to deliver excellent customer service
• And just as importantly, an eagerness to learn and be a part of a supportive team.
