Job summary

Indiji Civil is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to lead our crews on local, DIDO and FIFO projects in Queensland. You will supervise daily civil activities, coordinate crews, subcontractors and plant operators, and ensure safety, quality and on‑time delivery.

You will read drawings, monitor productivity and liaise with clients and project stakeholders to maintain compliance with environmental and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience supervising civil construction projects.
  • Strong background in earthworks, drainage and civil infrastructure.
  • Experience supervising multiple trades and subcontractors.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Current Construction White Card.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Willingness to work away from home on FIFO and DIDO rosters.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily civil construction activities across projects.

  • Coordinate labour, plant, equipment and materials.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and project specifications.
  • Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved methodologies.
  • Monitor project productivity and programme performance.
  • Conduct daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
  • Implement and monitor Environmental Management Plans.
  • Complete quality assurance inspections and documentation.
  • Coordinate survey requirements and construction set-out.
  • Liaise professionally with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
  • Manage subcontractor performance and site coordination.
  • Maintain accurate daily site records, diaries and progress reports.
  • Identify and resolve construction issues before they impact project delivery.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and strong team environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager and Operations Manager, the Construction Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The successful applicant will lead site crews, subcontractors and plant operators while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and contractual requirements.

This role will involve working across local projects as well as DIDO and FIFO projects throughout Queensland.

Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience supervising civil construction projects.
  • Strong background in earthworks, drainage and civil infrastructure.
  • Experience supervising multiple trades and subcontractors.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Sound understanding of civil construction methodologies.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Current Construction White Card.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • Ability to work away from home on FIFO and DIDO rosters.
Highly Regarded
  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction or equivalent.
  • Diploma of Civil Construction.
  • QBCC Licence or Nominated Supervisor experience.
  • Traffic Management qualifications.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Confined Space.
  • Working at Heights.
  • Plant operating experience.
  • GPS machine control knowledge.
  • Environmental rehabilitation experience.
