Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services is seeking a senior construction advisory expert to drive delivery of industrial buildings and infrastructure in Australia. You will advise on concept design, tenders, pricing, contractors, and commissioning oversight, aligning project goals with cost efficiency and performance.

With a focus on Materials Recovery Facilities, Food Organics Garden Organics, and Energy from Waste facilities, you will guide project teams from concept through handover to operations while

Qualifications

• Degree in civil or structural engineering or similar.
• Ten years of experience, with extensive Australia exposure.
• Experience managing industrial building/civil tenders and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural construction expertise to Veolia projects.
• Develop early concept designs/proofs of concepts for civil/site structures.
• Apply commercial and construction cost knowledge.
• Apply value engineering and design optimisation to civil works.

The Opportunity

This is the perfect next role for a true subject matter expert in getting construction projects delivered. In this key advisory and strategic role, you will use your extensive experience in construction project management to provide expert advice to managers, project teams and project managers to help them deliver the construction of industrial buildings and infrastructure focusing on Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF), Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) Facilities and Energy from Waste Facilities. Drawing on your knowledge of design, tenders, pricing, contractors, commissioning oversight and operational performance, you will assist and advise them on how to complete their projects with high effectiveness and cost management. You will be the key to their project delivery success being involved in project concept development, tendering, delivery and hand-over to operations.

What you'll be responsible for

Provide civil and structural construction expertise to the development and delivery of Veolia’s projects

Assist in the development of early concept designs/proof of concepts for civil, site and industrial structures

Apply commercial and construction cost knowledge

Apply value engineering and design optimisation to civil, site works and building structures

Assist in the development of concept designs to provide to contractors for competitive pricing and tendering purposes

Utilise your commercial knowledge for cost estimates and testing contractor pricing.

What you'll need to be successful

Degree in civil or structural engineering or similar

Minimum of ten years of experience, with extensive experience in Australia

Demonstrated experience in managing industrial building, structural and / or civil project tenders including an understanding of pricing of projects

Demonstrated track record of managing industrial building, structural and/or civil construction projects.

Demonstrated understanding of industrial building, structural and/or civil design

The ability to work on multiple projects locally and interstate

Driver’s licence (essential)
