Job summary

CPB Contractors is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor local to Townsville and surrounding suburbs. The role focuses on construction safety, WHS compliance, and proactive risk management within large civil projects.

You will deliver toolbox talks, support safety inspections, review SWMS, and help maintain safety governance across the project. The role requires weekend/night shift availability and a strong autonomous work style within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in large construction projects.
• Extensive understanding of WHS legislation and AS/NZS ISO.
• Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced project environments.
• Available to work weekends and/or night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Toolbox Talks with quality content and delivery.
• Participate in weekly Safety Inspections and Observations with project team.
• Support records management and safety data monitoring.
• Review SWMS and facilitate SWMS development workshops where needed.
• Review Contractor Safety Management Plans for compliance.
• Assist in compiling data for monthly safety reporting.
• Contribute to developing SH standards and governance.
• Conduct audits of safety management system and implement action plans.
