Riddwood Consulting Engineers seeks a specialist Construction Estimator to join our Engineering team and lead temporary works packages on Australia’s major infrastructure projects.
You will work with clients, contractors and drafters to solve complex construction challenges, prepare accurate estimates, review tender documents, and produce commercial tender handover packages while supporting junior engineers and improving technical processes.

You will work closely with clients, contractors, drafters and other engineers to solve complex construction challenges, manage competing priorities across multiple projects and ensure designs are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high technical standard.
You will also play an important role in supporting the development of junior engineers, improving technical processes and building long-term client relationships.
Prepare accurate estimates in conjunction with the work winning team
Review tender drawings and documents to determine the scope of works and tender deliverables
Attend tender start-up, mid bid and adjudication meetings and make site visits as required.
Prepare BOQs for scopes of projects
Produce enquiry schedules for suppliers and subcontractors required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued.
Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers and where necessary enter correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements.
Input to project risk register and attends a project risk meeting in the presence of Estimators, Planning Engineers, Design Co-ordinators and Clients representatives.
Attend Tender Handover meetings in the presence of Estimators and projects team.
Prepare commercial documents for tender handover to projects team.
You are someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of your work and is motivated by solving complex engineering and construction problems.
You will be degree qualified as a Quantity Surveyor or hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil or Structural Engineering that is recognised by Engineers Australia, have full working rights in Australia and at least four years of structural design experience within an engineering consultancy.
You will also have:
Proven estimating experience - minimum 5 years’ experience in similar roles
Previous exposure to energy and power projects
Previous experience on civil and structural works would also be beneficial but not essential
Experience with CCS Candy would be an advantage
First Principles estimating experience
Good communication skills
