Job summary

Evolve Environmental Solutions is seeking an Environmental Maintenance Team Leader to oversee a small field crew across Logan and the southern side of Brisbane. This hands-on role focuses on native planting, weed control and safe, efficient restoration work.

You will supervise day-to-day activities, coordinate with Project Managers and Ecologists to deliver measurable ecological outcomes, and foster a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading or supervising field staff in environmental restoration, bush regeneration, or land management.
• Strong knowledge of native vegetation, weed species, and control techniques.
• Competent in the safe use of herbicides and small plant/equipment (brush cutters, chainsaws, pumps, sprayers, etc.).
• White Card and Chemical Accreditation (ACDC or equivalent).
• Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Experience working on environmental offset projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside a small team undertaking on-ground restoration and offset works.
• Carry out and oversee native tree and shrub planting, weed control, and general maintenance.
• Ensure all tasks are performed safely, on time, and to specification; maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Record field data and complete daily work reports; communicate progress and site conditions to the Project Manager.
• Promote a positive and safe team culture.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Environmental Maintenance Team Leaderto take charge of an on-ground field teamacross the Southern Side of Brisbane -Logan and surrounds.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors and leading by example. You’ll be responsible for day-to-day supervision of a small crew carrying out activities such as native planting and weed control ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Ecologists to bring restoration plans to life and deliver measurable ecological outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and work alongside a small team undertaking on-ground restoration and offset works.

Carry out and oversee:

• Native tree and shrub planting
• Weed control (chemical and manual methods)
• General maintenance

Ensure all tasks are performed safely, on time, and to specification.

Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order.

Record field data and complete daily work reports.

Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and site conditions.

Promote a positive and safe team culture.

Essential Skills and Experience
