Job summary

QT Melbourne is seeking a Conference and Events Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of all conference and event spaces in Melbourne’s theatre district. You will manage a high-performance events team, build client relationships and drive opportunities to expand the portfolio while ensuring financial discipline and flawless execution.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel conference and events is essential.
• Lead front-of-house events team with strong service standards.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proficient with venue IT and POS systems.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of all conference and event spaces from enquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Direct and coordinate all operational activities to drive service excellence.
• Build relationships with clients and identify new function opportunities to grow the portfolio.
• Control expenses within budgeted targets and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate cross-department communication for flawless preparation and follow-up.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure charges are posted to accounts.
• Uphold quality through checklists and service standards; address incidents promptly.
