Qualifications

• Experience as a Concrete Batcher, Plant Manager, Allocator or similar role within concrete or construction materials.
• Strong batching and dispatch experience with the ability to confidently run a plant.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems.
• Ability to coordinate drivers, prioritise changing workloads and solve problems under pressure.
• A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
• A current driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Gisborne concrete plant
• Batch and dispatch concrete using our Command batching system
• Schedule and allocate drivers to customer deliveries
• Manage daily customer orders, enquiries and delivery changes via phone and email
• Monitor raw material stock levels and coordinate replenishment
• Operate the front-end loader and forklift as required (training provided if needed)
• Complete daily plant checks and oversee general housekeeping
• Conduct toolbox talks and support a strong safety culture
• Ensure compliance with environmental, Chain of Responsibility and fatigue management requirements
• Support operations at our Deer Park, Laverton and Campbellfield plants during quieter periods

Job description

• Flexibility to work at Gisborne, Deer Park, Laverton and Campbellfield sites
• Monday - Friday + Saturdays + OT
• Batch, dispatch and coordinate daily concrete deliveries

The Role

Central Premix Concrete is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to take ownership of our Gisborne concrete plant. Flexibility to work at the Deer Park, Laverton and Campbellfield plants will be required. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Batcher, Plant Manager or Concrete Allocator who enjoys autonomy, variety and being at the centre of the operation. As the dedicated Plant Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the site, coordinating concrete production, scheduling deliveries, managing drivers and ensuring every load is delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

What You'll Be Doing

Hours: Monday - Friday (rostered shifts are between the hours of 5am - 6pm, with flexibility needed for busy periods) and requirement to participate in Saturdays as required

About You

We're looking for someone who can confidently work independently and make sound operational decisions. You'll ideally bring:

• Previous experience as a Concrete Batcher, Plant Manager, Allocator or similar role within the concrete or construction materials industry
• Strong batching and dispatch experience with the ability to confidently run a plant
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
• The ability to coordinate drivers, prioritise changing workloads and solve problems under pressure
• A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence
• A current driver's licence
• Experience operating a front-end loader and forklift is advantageous but not essential
