Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager in Australia’s energy retail sector. Based primarily in Ringwood with CBD access and flexibility, you will lead and embed a practical, commercially focused compliance program across the organisation to protect customers and support growth.

You will work with the C-suite on regulatory change, manage incidents, breaches, reporting and remediation, and have a clear path to Head of Compliance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated regulatory compliance experience within utilities or energy retail.
• Experience managing customer, billing, and operational compliance matters.
• A sound understanding of the regulatory framework governing Australian energy retailers.
• Experience managing incidents, breaches, investigations, reporting and remediation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a willingness to examine operational processes closely.
• Experience participating in regulatory consultations or managing regulatory change programs is highly regarded.
• Guaranteed fast-tracked career to Head of Compliance role.
• Lots of exposure working with the C-suite on a daily basis.

The Opportunity

Our client is a rapidly growing Australian energy retailer with a strong reputation for competitive products, customer service and innovation. They are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead and embed a practical, commercially focused approach to regulatory compliance. You will work across the organisation to ensure customer-facing and internal processes remain compliant, effective, and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of an effective compliance program across the organisation.
• Ensure the compliance framework aligns with applicable energy legislation, industry standards and state-based regulatory requirements.
• Manage compliance plans, registers, incidents, breaches, investigations, and remediation activities.
• Review systems, policies, and operational processes to identify risks, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities.
• Develop scalable compliance solutions that protect customers while supporting commercial and operational objectives.
• Prepare scheduled regulatory reports and respond to requests and enquiries from regulators.
• Work with distributors and internal stakeholders to resolve customer and billing-related compliance matters.

About You

You will bring:
