Job summary

Glencore’s Rolleston Open Cut in Central Queensland seeks an experienced Compliance and Assurance Coordinator (18 months fixed term) to join the Health and Safety team. You will coordinate audits, verify investigations, and drive safety performance reporting while aligning with the Rolleston Safety and Health Management System.

This role offers exposure to high‑risk operations, a supportive team, and opportunities for professional growth within a leading coal mining group in Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience in compliance and assurance within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
• High level computer literacy and familiarity with document control systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in site audit activities including GCAA mandated assessments and verifications.
• Verify site incident investigations and risk assessments.
• Analyse safety performance data and report to HST Manager/Superintendent.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings to review health and safety performance against the HST Plan.
• Assist Rolleston Coal in critical control audits per schedule.
• Coordinate and facilitate risk assessments and bowtie risk assessments as required.
• Educate workers on the Rolleston Safety and Health Management System to ensure compliance.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced compliance and Assurance Coordinator (18 months-Fixed Term) to join our dynamic and successful team. As a valued member of the Health and Safety team and reporting directly to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

• Coordinate and participate in site audit activities as required, including GCAA mandated assessments and verifications

• Conduct verifications of site incident investigations and risk assessments

• Analyse and report safety performance data as required by the HST Manager/ H&S Superintendent

• Coordinate and schedule regular meetings to review health and safety performance against annual HST Plan

• Coordinate and assist operational areas of Rolleston Coal complete critical control audits as per the agreed schedule.

• Coordinate and facilitate risk assessments as required.

• Coordinate and facilitate bowtie risk assessments as required.

• Available to educate workers in the use of the Rolleston Safety and Health Management System and associated programs.

• A critical contact point on site for the CMO;

• Maintain document control and records as required

• Implement processes and tools, provide system reports, maintain and update electronic information systems, distribute documents, and demonstrate accuracy of all documentation. Take all practical steps for regulatory procedures and changes are followed.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• The ability to work in high pressure and ambiguous environments and maintain confidentiality with regards to tasks is essential.

• High level computer literacy, with experience in a similar role and Open-Cut Mining.
