Job summary

Forbes Solicitors is seeking a Solicitor/Associate to join our Insurance (Complex Claims) team. This full-time role (36.25 hours/week) is based in Gordon House with potential consideration for Leeds or Manchester offices, and involves handling complex Defendant Insurance claims alongside Partners.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years PQE, proven expertise in Employers/Public Liability matters, CPR/Insurance proceedings, and experience with PfW or similar case management systems.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (or CILEX equivalent) with 3-5 years PQE.
• Experience handling Employers and Public Liability claims.
• Expert knowledge of CPR and Insurance litigation processes.
• Experience using legal case management systems (PfW or similar).
• Proven ability to generate fees and manage deadlines.
• Strong client-care and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Handle or support a varied caseload of Defendant Insurance claims (Employers/Public Liability).
• Advise on complex liability, contractual and indemnity issues.
• Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance to clients.
• Ensure profitability and achievement of KPIs, including time recording and service delivery.
• Complete legal tasks and documentation accurately; conduct legal research, drafting, and calculations.
• Analyse matters, assess risks, and determine case strategies.
• Negotiate, mediate or litigate to achieve optimal client outcomes.
• Collaborate on complex cases with Partners and Associates.
• Deliver exceptional client care and maintain clear communication.
• Represent clients in court or before counsel as required.
