Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a Health and Security Assistant to help protect patients, support staff and maintain a safe hospital environment at Manning Hospital. The role is casual and remunerated per hour, with an emphasis on reliability, flexibility and teamwork.

Candidates should hold a current Class 1A Security License and be willing to work shifts. Training and a supportive onboarding process will be provided to ensure a smooth integration into the team.

Qualifications

• Willingness to follow policies, procedures and priorities.
• Ability to remain calm with distressed or aggressive individuals.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and infection prevention is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in patient care and inner facility patient transfers.
• Maintain high levels of cleanliness and security within the hospital environment.
• Address security issues and apply restraints when required to support safe operations.
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming and secure healthcare setting.
