Job summary

Help at Hand Support Services in NSW seeks experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team and make a difference in people’s lives.

You will deliver person-centred support, adapt to each client’s routines, accompany them to appointments or activities, and offer companionship at home with a cup of tea. A valid driver's license and checks are required. This casual role offers varied shifts and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must have own fully insured and reliable vehicle
• Current police check (within 6 months) or international police check if applicable
• Certificate III in Disability or higher or equivalent experience
• Current Working with Children Check
• First aid/CPR certificates (current)
• Full and clean Australian driver’s licence
• Be punctual, reliable and flexible
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field
• Ability to self-supervise and remain calm during crises
• Right to live and work in Australia

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support and assist with daily activities as determined by the client
• Accompany clients to appointments, outings, or activities
• Support in home and community settings, offering companionship and care
• Maintain safety and crisis management while remaining calm
