Homewell in Melbourne's North & West is seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker / Personal Care Worker to support a NDIS participant in Oak Park. You will provide daily living assistance, compassionate companionship and trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Ideal candidates hold Cert III or IV in Disability, have experience with complex support needs and hold essential checks (NDIS Worker Screening, WWCC).

Formación

• Cert III or IV in Disability is required.
• Experience with complex support needs, psychosocial disability, neurodivergence or trauma backgrounds is valued.
• Medication training is desirable.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check is required.
• Working with Children Check is required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Own reliable transport with comprehensive insurance and a Victorian Driver License.

Responsabilidades

• Support daily living activities and personal care.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Create a safe, heard and respected environment.
• Use trauma-informed and person-centered communication.
• Be mindful of sensory needs and maintain a calm, sensory-appropriate environment.
• Provide preparation before appointments, outings or unfamiliar activities.
• Help participant make decisions about food, routines, activities and supports.
• Encourage independence, choice and control; avoid doing for them.
• Provide community access and transport when needed.
• Assist with domestic tasks as needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries while supporting consistently and respectfully.
• Follow the participant's support plan and routines.
