Job summary

Mercy Health in Ballarat is seeking a casual Food Service Assistant to support our residents with meals and dining experiences. You will prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs, maintain food safety and assist with daily cleaning and kitchen tasks.

You will work closely with chefs and staff, engage with residents during mealtimes, and help gather feedback to improve meals. NDIS clearance or police check is required.

Qualifications

• Food handling certification or equivalent training required.
• Previous experience in aged care food service is beneficial.
• Knowledge of dietary needs for residents.
• NDIS clearance or application and recent police check required.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and serving according to dietary requirements.
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure hygiene.
• Interact with residents during mealtimes, providing companionship.
• Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with dietary needs in collaboration with dietitians.
