Job summary

VMCH is seeking a Community Support Assistant to provide personalised care to ageing clients in their homes and community across Wangaratta and surrounding regions.

The role focuses on daily living assistance, social support, personal care and transport as needed, with a strong emphasis on person-centred care and client independence.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Ageing, Home & Community Care or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, client-focused approach.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and supporting client independence.
  • Team-focused and supportive of colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and respond to client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised care and support to ageing clients within their homes and community.
  • Assist with daily living activities, social support, personal care, domestic assistance and transport as required.
  • Focus on helping clients maintain independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
  • Work in partnership with clients and colleagues to ensure safe and positive care environments.

  • Provide meaningful care to clients inside their own homes
  • Part-time employment opportunity | Minimum of 4 days of availability (Monday - Friday)

The position

As a Community Support Assistant, you will provide personalised care and support to ageing clients within their homes and community.

The role focuses on helping clients maintain their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life through assistance with daily living activities, social support, personal care, domestic assistance, and transport services where required.

What’s required
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care, Home & Community Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, client-focused approach.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and supporting client independence.
  • Team-focused and supportive of colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to client needs.
  • Current National Police Check and Australian work rights.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence and access to a registered, insured vehicle (comprehensive).
  • Commitment to compliance, mandatory training, and VMCH values.
