Job summary

Firmus Technologies in Sydney is seeking a Community Engagement Advisor to plan, implement and report on community engagement across our Australian development portfolio. You will manage enquiries, identify risks, coordinate forums and communications, and work with internal teams to ensure social licence and trust.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in community engagement, strong stakeholder relations, and excellent communication skills. Hybrid role with 4 days in office and 1 day from home.

We back our people to grow into new domains and take on challenges beyond their previous experience.Role SummaryThe Community Engagement Advisor will support planning, implementation and reporting of community engagement activities across Firmus’ Australian development portfolio, building a consistent, locally credible model and providing insights that support approvals, delivery, social licence and long-term community trust.Key Responsibilities* Support the delivery of community and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and project commitments.Manage community enquiries and complaints, supporting timely resolution, continuous process improvement and a positive community and stakeholder experience.* Identify engagement risks and opportunities, providing insights that support project outcomes and community expectations.* Coordinate community consultation activities, forums, meetings, communications and engagement initiatives across development, construction and operational phases.* Assist with the delivery of community engagement campaigns, project notifications and communications that keep stakeholders informed and engaged.* Represent community interests by collaborating with internal teams and contributing to decisions that affect local communities.* Champion best-practice engagement across the project development lifecycle.* Contribute to a collaborative, agile team environment, supporting ad hoc projects and activities as required.Skills & Experience* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.* 3-5 years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, communications or corporate affairs, ideally within infrastructure, construction or major projects.* Proven ability to develop and deliver community engagement and communication materials for diverse audiences.* Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience building effective relationships across internal and external groups.* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical information into clear messaging in plain English.* Strong organisational, administrative and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.* A collaborative, adaptable and solution-focused approach, supported by strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to Firmus’ values.* IAP2 accreditation is highly regarded.Location & Reporting* Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia* Reports to: Head of Community EngagementEmployment BasisPermanent full-timeHybrid working (4 days in office; 1 day from home)DiversityAt Firmus, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace.
