Central Gippsland Health in Gippsland - Wellington invites applications for a Community Care Worker to support clients to live independently at home with high-quality, person-centred care. We welcome both qualified and unqualified workers to serve in Rosedale, Heyfield, Maffra and Sale areas, with weekend availability encouraged.

The role involves domestic assistance, personal care for qualified staff, and documentation of services.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support – Aged Care or Disability (or equivalent) or currently studying towards it.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with domestic tasks including cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors; ironing and washing clothes; moving light furniture; bed making; meal preparation.
• Provide personal care to qualified staff including showering, dressing, toileting, grooming, and assistance with medications when applicable; provide respite care.

About Central Gippsland Health

Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the magnificent Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.

CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.

CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.

About Department

The Home Support team, part of the Community and Allied Health Services directorate, provides essential care in clients’ homes, CGH centres, and community settings. We support older people and individuals with disabilities to live independently and with dignity.

About the Role

As a Community Care Worker, you will support clients to remain living independently at home by delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Our approach is guided by the principles of reablement and the active service model, placing clients at the heart of their care journey.

We are looking for both qualified and unqualified Community Care Workers to support clients in the following localities and surrounds: Rosedale, Heyfield, Maffra and Sale areas.

We are seeking people with availability and willingness for weekend work.

Duties

All Community Carers:

• Complement the client/carer skills and abilities by assisting them with domestic assistance which includes cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors; ironing and washing clothes; moving light furniture; bed making; and assistance with meal preparation.
• Maintain accurate and clear documentation related to service delivery, including progress notes

Qualified Community Carers:

• Provide personal care including assistance with showering, bathing, dressing/undressing, toileting, grooming; assisting with medications, eating and drinking;
• Provide respite care in the client’s home and in community settings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Minimum Certificate III Individual Support – Aged Care or Disability (or equivalent) or currently studying towards it
• Current Victorian Drivers Licence
