Job summary

Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company with a broad reach across television, radio, digital and publishing brands. The Communications Coordinator will support Corporate Affairs, manage internal channels, and partner with sales to engage clients via trade media.

You’ll collaborate with People & Culture to communicate projects and culture, deliver events, and drive impactful storytelling in a dynamic environment. Flexible, hybrid arrangements available.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in internal communications, trade media, advertising, or an agency environment.
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communication with strong attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of the Australian media landscape, trade channels, and corporate affairs.
• Familiarity with Canva and Mailchimp is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal communication channels, including the intranet, Slack, and staff newsletters.
• Draft internal and external content, including media statements, releases and leadership notes.
• Collaborate with People & Culture to communicate key projects, initiatives and culture updates.
• Support the Head of Communications in group-wide strategy and trade media targeting.
• Coordinate and deliver internal events across multi-site teams.
• Utilise digital tools and AI to enhance workflows and boost efficiency.

Job Description

As a Communications Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Corporate Affairs team to inform, connect, and inspire teams across Nine. Reporting to the Head of Communications & Public Affairs, you will oversee corporate internal communication channels while partnering with sales to strategically engage clients via trade media. This is an exciting opportunity to drive impactful storytelling, champion organisational culture, and deliver innovative content in a dynamic environment.

Day To Day You Will

• Manage and elevate internal communication channels, including the corporate intranet, Slack, and staff newsletters.
• Draft and refine compelling internal and external content, including media statements, releases, and leadership notes.
• Partner with People & Culture to communicate key business projects, strategic initiatives, and cultural updates.
• Support the Head of Communications in executing the broader group communications strategy and targeting trade media.
• Coordinate and deliver internal events to build connection and engagement across multi-site teams.
• Utilise digital technologies and AI tools to enhance workflows, optimise comms processes, and boost efficiency.

What You'll Bring

• Prior experience in internal communications, trade media, advertising, or an agency environment.
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of the Australian media landscape, trade channels, and corporate affairs.
• Familiarity with design, CMS, and email tools like Canva and Mailchimp is highly regarded, though not essential.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders.
