Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is recruiting a Commissioning Engineer for data centre projects in Australia. The role covers planning, scripting and executing commissioning activities for electrical and mechanical systems, and handing over to client fitout teams.

You will coordinate testing, attend vendor site FATs, and maintain safety, quality and schedule commitments. Strong communication and industry knowledge are essential for success in this fast‑growing sector.

Qualifications

• Hold a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree, or relevant commissioning qualifications.
• Ideally have experience working on data centre projects.
• Knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic.

About the role

Stantec have a strong pipeline of Data Centre projects heading into Construction in late 2026 and 2027. Our role in these projects extends to the commissioning of the facility, acting as the Independent Commissioning Agent for many data centre developers. We are looking to build our commissioning team and are seeking to open these opportunities to develop a career in data centre construction.

Working alongside contractors, consultants and clients, you will play a key role in planning and executing commissioning activities for critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring systems follow the required commissioning procedures and are handed over to the client fitout teams.
