Job summary

Charterhouse Partnership Australia in Sydney is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its lean, business‑facing legal team. You will work closely with the General Counsel, negotiate deals and provide practical advice rather than operating in a heavily process‑driven environment.

The role is approximately 60–70% commercial contracting and 30–40% privacy matters, with hybrid work from a Sydney CBD office. Salary is $170k–$190k incl super, plus a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Australian-qualified lawyer with 3+ years' PQE in private practice.
• Strong privacy law exposure desired.
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Confidence engaging with commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate customer and vendor agreements.
• Advise on commercial transactions and contractual risk.
• Handle privacy, data protection and related compliance matters.
• Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders.
