Nordex Group is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive the commercial success of large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia. You will oversee business development, contract negotiation, and project handover, providing strategic leadership while protecting commercial interests.

Responsibilities include negotiating complex contracts, supporting tendering, guiding project teams, managing commercial risks, and building strong client relationships to deliver on budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in commercial management or project commercial roles within renewables, energy, infrastructure, engineering or construction.
• Proven experience negotiating and administering complex contracts with claims, variations and EOTs.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.

As Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of large-scale renewable energy projects across Australia. Working across the full project lifecycle, from business development and contract negotiation through to project execution and operational handover, you will provide strategic commercial leadership while safeguarding the company's commercial interests.You will be responsible for negotiating and managing complex contractual arrangements, mitigating commercial risks, supporting project delivery teams, and building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting the growth of the renewable energy sector.

YOUR TASKS:

• Lead the negotiation, execution and management of customer, supplier and project-related contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support sales, tendering and business development activities by reviewing, negotiating and structuring commercial agreements.
• Provide commercial leadership and guidance to project, operational and sales teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Proactively identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks while protecting the company's interests.
• Manage contractual obligations, compliance requirements, notices, deliverables and critical contract milestones.
• Prepare, evaluate and negotiate claims, contract variations, Extensions of Time (EOTs), deeds and other contractual amendments.
• Drive effective contract administration and maintain accurate contractual records and documentation.
• Support project acquisition activities and contribute to strategic business growth initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Ensure commercial outcomes align with project objectives, budget requirements and overall business strategy.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Minimum 7 years' experience in commercial management, contract management or project commercial roles within the renewable energy, energy, infrastructure, engineering or construction sectors.
• Proven experience negotiating and administering complex contracts, with strong expertise in claims, contract variations, Extensions of Time (EOTs) and commercial risk management.
• Solid understanding of project delivery models, including EPC, TSA, service and maintenance agreements.
• Strong knowledge of Australian commercial practices and contractual frameworks within the energy sector.
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
• Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
• Strategic and analytical thinker who can balance commercial opportunity with contractual and project risk.
• Highly organised, proactive and resilient, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Collaborative relationship builder with strong communication skills, a solutions-focused mindset, and a commitment to ethics, governance and compliance.
