Job summary

Modus Law, a Sydney-based commercial law firm, seeks an Associate to join its Commercial Litigation and Insolvency team. The role targets a lawyer with a minimum of two years' post-admission experience, capable of handling complex matters and developing client relationships.

Ideal candidates will have strong litigation fundamentals, a genuine interest in insolvency, and the ability to take ownership of matters while supporting the team’s growth.

Qualifications

• At least two years' post-qualification experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client management abilities.
• Commercial litigation experience is essential; insolvency exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and legal advice.
• Appear in courts and tribunals, and attend mediations and settlement conferences.
• Brief and instruct counsel as required.
• Advise insolvency practitioners, creditors, companies and individuals on insolvency issues.
• Act in corporate and personal insolvency matters; prepare statutory demands and winding up proceedings.
• Contribute to business development and the firm’s growth.
