Job summary

AusNet is seeking a Commercial Manager (Pre Contract) to join our Deal Execution team. You will lead negotiation, pricing and execution of complex infrastructure contracts across transmission, renewables and data centre connections.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in complex commercial negotiations in infrastructure or energy
• Strong contract negotiation skills balancing risk and commercial outcomes
• Understanding of corporate finance principles and asset pricing
• Experience developing business cases and investment proposals
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Collaborative across commercial, finance, legal and delivery teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Negotiate agreements with customers, contractors and suppliers.
• Lead risk assessment, pricing strategies and contract negotiations.
• Lead commercial evaluations supporting investment decisions.
• Align contracts through back-to-back arrangements.
• Present business cases and investment submissions.
• Build relationships across Finance, Legal, Procurement and other teams.
• Support delivery of infrastructure projects with appropriate protections.
• Maintain commercial frameworks and tools.
• Provide commercial, contracting and pricing expertise.
• Champion safety, customer focus and continuous improvement.
