Job summary

Merthyr Law in Brisbane is seeking a commercially minded solicitor with three years’ post-admission experience to join our Brisbane team. You will work directly with clients on varied commercial matters and enjoy meaningful responsibility with support from experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment.

You will advise privately owned businesses, companies and individuals on commercial advisory and transactional work, including governance and regulatory matters, while developing

Qualifications

• Admitted as an Australian legal practitioner with at least 3 years post-admission experience.
• Experience in commercial law, corporate transactions or a related practice area.
• Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, including services, supply, distribution, confidentiality and shareholder agreements.
• Advise on business sales and acquisitions, restructures and general corporate transactions.
• Provide practical advice on corporate governance, regulatory compliance and commercial risk.
• Manage matters from initial instructions through to completion, with appropriate partner guidance and support, including coordinating due diligence and transaction documents.
• Communicate clearly with clients, accountants, financial advisers and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development and the ongoing growth of the commercial practice.

About the role

You will advise privately owned businesses, companies and individuals including private family clients across a range of commercial matters. The role offers autonomy, close partner support and the opportunity to build trusted, long-term client relationships.

Key responsibilities
