Job summary

Plus Ultra Lawyers in Sydney CBD is seeking a motivated Law Graduate for a part-time role with the potential to transition to full-time. The position focuses on commercial law, transactions and litigation, with supervision from qualified solicitors.

Ideal candidates will have completed LLB/JD and PLT, plus relevant practical experience in a law firm. Electronic filing knowledge and strong drafting skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD).
• Must have completed Practical Legal Training (PLT) or be nearing completion of PLT.
• Must have practical experience in commercial law and commercial transactions.
• Experience working in a law firm, preferably in commercial law or litigation.
• Experience with electronic filing through NSW Online Registry, NCAT Online Services and federal court platforms.
• Ability to prepare, file and serve court and tribunal documents under supervision.
• Strong research, analytical and drafting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assisting solicitors with commercial law and litigation matters from commencement through to completion.
• Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, agreements and transactional documents.
• Assisting with business sale and purchase transactions and other commercial matters.
• Preparing, filing and serving court and tribunal documents.
• Assisting with matters before NCAT, Local, District, Supreme Courts and FCFC.
• Using electronic court and tribunal filing platforms and liaising with registries.
• Assisting with settlement negotiations, mediation preparation and dispute resolution.
• Attending client conferences, mediations and court proceedings when appropriate.
