Job summary

Blackmores is seeking a Financial & Commercial Analyst at our Braeside Manufacturing site to bridge financial accounting with commercial strategy and drive long-term planning and value creation. The role partners with Operations and Planning to improve profitability and manufacturing performance while supporting capital investments and cost optimisation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A qualified professional accountant or currently pursuing a CA or CPA qualification.
  • Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial finance, cost accounting, operational finance or manufacturing finance environments.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including product costing, standard costing, variance analysis and cost centre management.
  • Experience developing financial models, ROI assessments and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience using SAP, TM1, Power BI, Excel modelling or similar business intelligence and financial systems.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and influencing outcomes through commercial insights.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, working capital optimisation and SLOB analysis is highly regarded.
  • A naturally curious, proactive and solutions-focused professional with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models, ROI analyses and business cases to support capital investments, operational improvements and commercial opportunities.
  • Support strategic financial planning, annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes to enable informed business decisions.
  • Analyse manufacturing, operational and commercial performance, providing insights into profitability, cost drivers and business opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to quantify product-level gross margins, cost variances and yield improvement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain costing models for New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD), ensuring commercial viability and accurate product costing.
  • Support Bill of Materials (BOM) development and costing activities across raw materials, packaging, labour and manufacturing overheads.
  • Perform variance analysis and month-end reporting, ensuring accurate financial insights and decision support.
  • Manage and provide insights on Slow-Moving and Obsolete Stock (SLOB), identifying opportunities to optimise inventory performance and working capital outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations and Commercial teams to reduce inventory risks and improve inventory efficiency.
  • Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards and financial analytics using tools such as Power BI and SAP.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance financial processes, operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Influence decision-making through effective business partnering, translating financial data into practical recommendations for stakeholders.

We are seeking a Financial & Commercial Analyst coming from a Manufacturing environment to join our Finance team in our Braeside Manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, transforming complex financial data into meaningful business insights, and influencing strategic decision-making.

In this critical role, you will bridge financial accounting with commercial strategy, supporting long-term business planning, operational performance, capital investment decisions and cost optimisation initiatives. Working closely with Operations, Integrated Business Planning, Quality, Innovation Delivery, Site Leadership and other broader teams, to help drive profitability, improve manufacturing performance and support sustainable business growth.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment, enjoys solving business challenges through financial analysis, and is passionate about continuous improvement.

This role reports to the Senior Commercial Manager. This role is based in our Braeside Manufacturing Site (Southeast Victoria) with an expectation to work at least 4 days per week in office and 1 day from home.
