Job summary

Fiserv is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide advice on contracts, governance, IP, data privacy, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory matters, and employment issues, supporting day‑to‑day legal advisory function.

You will draft and negotiate contracts, stay updated on industry regulations, liaise with regulatory bodies, and develop templates to enhance processes and ensure compliance across the business in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to the management team on business decisions, contracts, and regulatory implications.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, company law, and other applicable statutes.
• Identify potential legal and regulatory risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement robust compliance programs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to safeguard the company's interests.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring timely filings, audits, and responses to notices.
• Develop and improve legal templates and precedents.
• Enhance legal operations and processes.
• Advise on product design, distribution, lifecycle management and any regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain internal policies to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
• Oversee and manage legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Conduct training sessions for employees to ensure understanding of legal and compliance requirements.
• Develop monitoring frameworks for senior management on compliance status and legal risks.
• Assist with any mergers and acquisitions activities in the region.
