Job description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Content Editor / Writer to join the commercial content production team at News Australia on a four‑to‑six‑month contract, four days per week. Reporting to a creative director, this person will create and sub‑edit branded content for some of Australia's leading news and lifestyle titles, including news.com.au, The Australian, Vogue, Escape and Delicious.

This role can be based in our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Write and sub‑edit branded print, digital and video content that meets client briefs and aligns with News Australia's titles.
  • Partner with art directors to create polished concepts and executions that exceed client expectations.
  • Brainstorm fresh ideas in response to briefs and articulate them compellingly.
  • Develop an understanding of market trends and client needs.
  • Sub‑edit marketing collateral.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate
  • At least five years of writing experience in a creative agency and/or editorial role.
  • Ability to work with a team of copywriters, art directors and producers to deliver quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Positive attitude with strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and ability to manage multiple tight deadlines.
  • Experience writing for lifestyle and/or news titles (ideal).
  • Experience writing for video and articulating campaign ideas (ideal).
  • Experience using InDesign (bonus).
  • Capability to print, edit and produce video and audio scripts and social posts.
