Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a commercially minded Commercial Analyst to support strategic customer opportunities, product development initiatives and growth investments across Origin Zero. You will help evaluate opportunities, develop business cases and partner with Product, Finance, Sales and Corporate Development to drive long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Finance, Computer Science, Commerce, Economics or Engineering.
• 2-5 years' experience in commercial analysis, financial modelling or similar.
• Strong financial modelling capability and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and commercial judgement.
• Ability to translate complex information into practical business recommendations.
• Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure or related industries is a plus.

We're looking for a commercially minded Commercial Analyst to support strategic customer opportunities, product development initiatives and growth investments across Origin Zero. From embedded networks and battery storage to EV charging and broader distributed energy solutions, you'll help assess the opportunities, products and partnerships that will support our customers and shape the future of energy.

Working across customer tenders, product economics and strategic growth initiatives, you'll provide the commercial insights and financial modelling that influence customer, product and investment decisions.

The opportunity

Reporting to the Enterprise Modelling & Customer Economics Lead, you'll work across three key areas:

Strategic customer opportunities and tenders

Strategic growth initiatives include M&A

You'll partner with teams across Product, Finance, Sales, Energy Markets and Corporate Development to evaluate opportunities, develop business cases and support long-term growth.

What you'll be doing

What you'll bring

Degree qualifications in Finance, Computer Science, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline

2-5 years' experience in commercial analysis, financial modelling or a similar role

Strong financial modelling capability and advanced Excel skills

Strong analytical thinking and commercial judgement

The ability to translate complex information into practical business recommendations

Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure or related industries will be highly regarded, particularly exposure to embedded networks, distributed energy solutions, batteries or EV charging technologies.
