The position sits in the Payment Integrity team in the Health Partnerships & Networks Hub.

A key aspect of this role involves leading and conducting comprehensive DRG audits onsite across various locations, ensuring adherence to Australian Coding Standards and other industry guidelines. You will play a central role in managing analytics-driven audit leads, coordinating audit schedules, and overseeing the entire audit process from initiation through to resolution.

Some of your responsibilities will include :
  • Execute audits, assist in development of the onsite audit program, and assess risk controls and audit report writing.
  • Lead Medibank staff in understanding key issues of clinical coding / DRG and other contracting issues and the impact on business outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Guide Providers to resolve clinical coding / DRG and other claiming disparities.
  • Provide support to team members in meeting the priorities of within Payment Integrity.
About you :

You will have a bachelor’s qualification in Health Information Management or Clinical Coding and professional certification in Clinical Coding Auditing.

This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills, exceptional report‑writing abilities, and strong organisational capabilities to manage travel and expenses efficiently.

You are highly organized and have a strong attention to detail. Multi‑tasking and time management skills come as second nature to you.

Now, let’s talk technical skills - you will have a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of auditing standards and procedures and provide accurate advice on relevant clinical coding / DRG assignment.

You are a whizz with Excel and the Microsoft Suite of products.

While not mandatory, a knowledge and understanding of the private health insurance sector, will be highly regarded.
