Job summary

Skilled Medical is seeking a Locum Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist) for a coastal Queensland hospital from ASAP to 10/01/2027. The role covers emergency medicine with potential obstetric and anaesthetic involvement, in a 49-bed acute care facility serving a multicultural community.

Shifts run 08:00–19:00 with on-call 19:00–08:00 (up to 3 shifts/week) or 10:30–21:30 with standby on-call one shift/week. GPO may enable obstetrics work during certain periods.

Qualifications

• Locum Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist) with emergency medicine experience.
• Experience in obstetrics and anaesthetics is desirable.
• Short-term locum with flexible shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED coverage during day and on-call hours.
• Participate in obstetrics and anaesthesia procedures as needed.
• Support hospital Emergency/Resus/OT services per rota.
