Job summary

ALS Energy’s Gladstone laboratory is seeking a Full-time Coal Quality Tester to join our rotating 8-hour shift roster. You will support coal sampling, testing and lab operations, helping ensure safety, quality and accurate results across the site.

You’ll contribute to quality systems, handle sample preparation and general lab tasks, while upholding strict SOPs and a strong safety culture. Previous coal testing or lab experience is preferred; a valid Driver’s Licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in coal testing or laboratory work preferred.
• Valid Driver's Licence required.
• Be able to handle bags weighing up to 16 kg.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development, review and continual improvement of quality systems and procedures.
• Sort bags of samples weighing up to 16 kg.
• Perform routine manual tasks in a coal processing environment.
• Process samples accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised lab and work area.
• Adhere to SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Support timely turnaround of test results.
