Job summary

Ampstek seeks a contract Azure Cloud Engineer for 12+ months in Sydney, Australia. The role requires hands-on Azure expertise, especially in networking, load balancing, monitoring, and backup/DR strategies.

You will implement secure, scalable cloud solutions and contribute to migration and infrastructure projects. You will work on governance, Azure AD RBAC, VPN/ExpressRoute, and use PowerShell or Azure CLI along with Terraform/ARM/Bicep to automate and manage resources.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Expertise in Azure networking, load balancers, and security governance.
• Proficient with IaC tools: Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud solutions on Azure for enterprise workloads.
• Manage networking, identity RBAC, monitoring, backup, and DR concepts.
• Collaborate on migration and infrastructure projects with governance in mind.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking.
• Experience with Azure Load Balancer / Application Gateway.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and RBAC.
• Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Experience with Azure Backup and disaster recovery concepts.
• Knowledge of VPN and ExpressRoute.
• Experience with PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
• Experience with Terraform, ARM templates or Bicep.
• Understanding of cloud security and Azure governance.
• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and firewalls.
• Experience with enterprise cloud migration and infrastructure projects.
