Job summary

Whizdom seeks a Cloud Pak for Data Engineer in Canberra to support installation, automation and upgrades of CPD on Red Hat OpenShift. The role focuses on configuring CPD 5.3.1, automating deployments with Helm, and implementing GitOps pipelines for CPD 5.4.x upgrades.

The candidate will troubleshoot platform issues, develop automation scripts, and produce runbooks, with on-site and remote work options and a roughly 80-day engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience with Cloud Pak for Data, IKC and Manta is required or highly beneficial.
• Strong background in Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes administration.
• Proficient with Helm charts, GitLab CI/CD and GitOps practices.
• Hands-on scripting in Bash or Python for automation tasks.
• Experience upgrading CPD environments and using cpd-cli/CASE files.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Cloud Pak for Data 5.3.1 and related components.
• Design and implement GitOps pipelines in GitLab to automate upgrades.
• Develop automation scripts to improve operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot CPD, OpenShift and deployment automation issues.
• Produce technical documentation and runbooks for operations.
