Job summary

XPT Software Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer in Melbourne to design, automate, and manage secure Azure workloads using IaC and DevOps practices. You will lead the implementation of repeatable cloud infrastructure through IaC, establish engineering standards, and drive automation patterns across Investment and Wealth domains.

Responsibilities include building modular IaC, integrating with Azure DevOps pipelines, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with hands-on expertise in Terraform and/or Bicep/ARM templates.
• Azure Key Vault and CI/CD pipelines using YAML and JSON.
• Single Sign-On (SSO), SCIM, and SAML.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform and/or Azure Bicep/ARM templates.
• Build reusable IaC modules and standardized deployment patterns to provision Azure infrastructure across environments.
• Integrate IaC deployments with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including automated validation, testing, deployment, and configuration management.
• Work with YAML and JSON scripts for pipeline configuration and automation.
• Develop and enforce engineering standards, reusable patterns, DevOps policies, IaC standards, and cloud best practices.
• Define standardized approaches for infrastructure and application delivery and guide engineering teams in DevOps/IaC adoption.
• Design, build, deploy, and configure Azure workloads within a DevOps-driven environment.
• Create solution architectures, detailed design documents, and functional specs aligned with standards.
• Develop, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability for cloud environments.
• Collaborate with architects, delivery squads, BAU teams, and project managers to meet objectives.
• Provide leadership to ensure cloud solutions comply with target architecture and industry best practices.

The candidate will be responsible for implementing repeatable andreusable cloud infrastructure through IaC, establishing engineering standardsand automation patterns, and providing technical leadership to cross-functionalteams. The role will support the delivery of high-quality cloud solutions forthe Investment, Wealth, and Superannuation domain.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintainInfrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and/or Azure Bicep/ARMtemplates.

Build reusable IaC modulesand standardized deployment patterns to provision Azure infrastructureconsistently across environments.

Integrate IaC deploymentswith Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including automated validation, testing,deployment, and configuration management.

Work extensively with YAMLand JSON scripts for pipeline configuration and automation.

Develop and enforceengineering standards, reusable patterns, DevOps policies, IaC standards, andcloud best practices.

Define standardizedapproaches for infrastructure and application delivery and guide engineeringteams in adopting DevOps and IaC best practices.

Design, build, deploy, andconfigure Azure workloads within a DevOps-driven environment.

Create solutionarchitectures, detailed design documents, and functional specifications alignedwith enterprise and architectural standards.

Develop, implement, andmaintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for managed cloudenvironments.

Work extensively with APIs,Azure API Management (APIM), and Azure Key Vault for secure integrations andsecrets management.

Manage Microsoft ActiveDirectory, including identity concepts, role-based access control (RBAC), andauthentication/authorization mechanisms.

Identify, design, andimplement identity and access management solutions, including SSO, SCIM, andSAML.

Participate hands-on in developmentactivities to address complex requirements across build, test, security,reliability, and performance.

Review and validate technicaldesigns to ensure alignment with functional, security, resilience, reusability,and operational requirements.

Collaborate with architects,delivery squads, BAU teams, principal engineers, and project managers to meettechnology and delivery objectives.

Design and implementautomation solutions using DevOps and IaC practices to optimize and streamlineexisting processes.

Contribute to theorganization’s central knowledge repository by documenting architectures,design models, IaC modules, and reusable patterns.

Provide technical leadershipand guidance to ensure cloud solutions comply with target architecture,organizational standards, and industry best practices.

Work closely with technologyand operations teams to support platform reliability, resilience, andoperational excellence.

Preferred Experience

Prior experience inInvestment, Wealth, or Superannuation domains.

Experience implementingenterprise-scale IaC solutions and reusable infrastructure modules acrossmultiple Azure environments.
