Qualifications

Job description

A leading Australian retailer is currently seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer (Azure and GCP) to join their team for a large project. Initially 6 months highly likely to extend the right person.

This is a hybrid role based in Norwest.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and enhance Cloud Automation and Provisioning capabilities, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines, Sentinel policy enforcement, and cloud provisioning modules – driving consistency and reducing manual effort.
• Maintain and extend reusable Terraform modules and automation blueprints aligned to Woolworths cloud standards.
• Support secret management modernization – integrating Azure Key Vault and GCP Secret Manager into IaC workflows.
• Collaborate with Cloud Architects and Cyber to ensure automation is secure-by-design and compliant with enterprise guardrails – reducing risk and operational overhead.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives as part of an agile squad.
• Troubleshoot IaC, CI / CD, and provisioning issues across multi-cloud environments.
• Contribute to operational dashboards, documentation, and release readiness for automation features.

Key Skills / Experience

• 5 years experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles.
• Strong hands‑on skills in Terraform Cloud, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and version control (Git).
• Experience working with Azure and / or GCP services using IaC.
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault, or GCP Secret Manager.
• Understanding of CI / CD practices, infrastructure pipelines, and cloud governance patterns.
• A “security‑first” mindset and awareness of least privilege and identity management principles.

Desirable

• Exposure to Sentinel policies, ServiceNow integrations, or configuration management tools.
• Multi‑cloud knowledge across Azure and GCP.
• Experience contributing to module registries or automation frameworks.
