Job summary

NSW Health's Campbelltown Hospital is recruiting for a Paediatrics Clinical Specialist. You will provide clinical management of paediatric patients at Campbelltown and Camden hospitals, delivering inpatient and outpatient paediatric care with on-site support and teaching responsibilities.

The role requires MBBS or equivalent and current registration with the Australian Medical Board, with progression toward FRACP.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree and current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Working towards FRACP.
• Commitment to ongoing medical education (CPD).
• Commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rosters.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary health care team.
• Experience in teaching and supervising junior medical staff.

• Provide clinical management of paediatric patients at Campbelltown/Camden hospitals.
• Deliver paediatric clinical services including inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory and emergency care, plus teaching and quality improvement.

What you'll be doing

To provide clinical management of paediatric patients at Campbelltown/Camden hospitals under your care.

Provide paediatric clinical services, including inpatient care, on site clinical support, outpatient care, ambulatory care, emergency department care, teaching and quality improvement.

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Working towards completion of FRACP.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/continuing professional development.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
• Preparedness to participate in any on-call service including on-call rosters already existing or established.
• Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
• Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
• Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
