Job summary

Orthotics Prosthetics South Australia (OPSA) is seeking an Advanced Clinical Prosthetist/Orthotist to lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team in Adelaide. The role focuses on high-level prosthetic and orthotic assessment, service planning and direct clinical care across OPSA and associated clinics.

You will provide advanced interventions for complex cases, guide staff development, and participate in recruitment and research activities to advance OPSA's care standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics, or equivalent.
• Eligible for membership to Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association.
• Driver’s license.
• Minimum five years clinical practise within O&P profession.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced prosthetic/orthotic assessment and intervention; set objectives and plans for complex cases.
• Consult in clinic advocacy for P&O input, across acute and sub-acute settings.
• Provide leadership by liaising with team members to manage clients and maintain a harmonious workplace.
• Promote education, training and research activities undertaken by OPSA.
• Involve in recruitment of clinical and technical staff.

Advanced Clinical Prosthetist/Orthotist | Lead, Mentor & Innovate

Step into a role where advanced clinical practice and genuine team leadership go hand in hand and bring specialist expertise to a complex and varied caseload across OPSA and its associated clinics, while guiding and mentoring the clinical and technical staff around you.

About the role:

Reporting to the Director OPSA, this role provides high-quality advanced Prosthetic and Orthotic assessment, service planning, and direct clinical service provision as appropriate for clients who access Orthotics and Prosthetics South Australia (OPSA) and associated clinics.

Duties for the role will include:

• Providing assessment and best prosthetic/orthotic intervention; formulate treatment objectives and treatment plans for clients with complex pathologies;
• Consult in clinic advocacy for P&O input, acute and sub-acute
• Provides leadership and direction by liaising closely with relevant team members, concerning management of clients, contributing to harmonious workplace, effective conflict resolution within team where required
• Promoting the education, training and research activities undertaken by OPSA
• Involvement in the recruitment of clinical and technical staff

About you:

• Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics, or equivalent
• Eligible for membership to Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association
• Driver’s license
• Experience in all aspects of service delivery relating to prosthetics and orthotics, exposure to contemporary and traditional practise equating to minimum of five years clinical practise within O&P profession
• Experience in multi-disciplinary setting
