Northern Health is seeking applications from motivated pharmacists to join our dynamic and supportive Pharmacy Department.

Applications are welcomed from experienced pharmacists, newly registered pharmacists and pharmacy graduates who are pending AHPRA registration and expect to obtain full registration prior to commencement.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

A permanent, full-time opportunity exists for a Grade 1 Clinical Pharmacist to join the team at Northern Health.

This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists early in their career to develop their clinical skills within a large and progressive health service. Pharmacists are supported through structured orientation, education and training opportunities, and exposure to a diverse range of clinical services across Northern Health. As pharmacists progress in their careers, there may be opportunities to apply for Northern Health's Residency Program to further enhance their professional development and clinical practice.

This rotational role provides the opportunity to gain experience across multiple Northern Health campuses and clinical practice areas, supporting broad professional development and career growth. The successful applicant may be required to work across sites and participate in weekend and public holiday services as required.

The Pharmacist will have responsibility of the provision of pharmacy services across Northern Health's acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services. They will ensure excellence in client care, evidence-based practice, and service improvement and risk management. They will work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Department to achieve the strategic outcomes of the Department.

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA), or eligible for registration and expecting registration prior to commencement
  • Commitment to evidence based and patient-centred care
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning

At Northern Health, pharmacists are integral members of multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad range of specialties.
