This role supports improving patient care, informing clinical practice, and advancing a nationally recognised research program in Far North Queensland, contributing to a culture of compassionate, community-focused health research.

• Educate and support patients and families in research and trials to assist informed decisions.
• Screen, recruit, enrol and follow-up participants with the PI and study team per protocol.
• Coordinate safe trials and ensure compliance with NCTGF, NHMRC and Qld standards, seeking improvements.

The Cairns Sexual Health Service provides specialist sexual health and blood-borne virus services across the Cairns and Hinterland region. About your opportunity:

In this position you will....

• Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning and evaluation to deliver a high standard of consumer/patient centred care.
• Provide advice, education and support to patients and the families of patients involved in research and clinical trials to facilitate informed decision making.
• Undertake and participate in participant screening, recruitment, enrolment, randomisation, follow-up and supervision in association with the Principal Investigator and other study personnel according to protocol-specific criteria.
• Coordinate safe and quality conduct of clinical trials within the Cairns Sexual Health Service, ensuring programmatic compliance with quality/regulatory requirements including but not limited to the National Clinical Trial Governance Framework (NCTGF), NHMRC and Queensland Government standards, and identify opportunities for continuous improvements and innovation.
