Job summary

Metro North Health's Kidney Health Service in Brisbane seeks a Clinical Nurse – Renal Research and Clinical Trials to deliver advanced nursing care for participants in renal studies and trials, coordinating screening, enrolment, follow-up and documentation with investigators.

The role blends clinical practice with research coordination, provides education to patients and families, maintains study records and supports quality improvement to advance kidney health services in Queensland.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with advanced clinical skills in renal care.
• Experience coordinating clinical trials or research studies.
• Ability to educate patients and families about trials and participation.
• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and research documentation.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Clinical Nurse – Renal Research and Clinical Trials provides advanced clinical nursing care and expert clinical support for consumers participating in renal research studies and clinical trials within the Metro North Kidney Health Service at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. The role combines specialised clinical nursing practice with research coordination activities to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and the successful conduct of renal clinical research.

The successful candidate will work closely with study participants, principal investigators and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate clinical trial activities, support participant recruitment and follow-up, maintain research documentation, and ensure compliance with clinical trial protocols and Good Clinical Practice standards. The role also provides education and support to patients and families while contributing to research, quality improvement and the ongoing advancement of kidney health services.
