About the role

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides evidence-based clinical care while leading education, training, and competency development for nursing staff. Collaborate with leaders and multidisciplinary teams to promote a strong learning culture, support quality care, and improve patient outcomes on Rose Ward.

Key duties of the role
  • Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing the learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
  • Provide orientation to all new staff
  • Provide ongoing learning, education and training to all staff
  • Provide proficient, evidence based, person centred, clinical nursing and case management
  • Assist and support the Nurse Unit Manager and the Nurse Educators in clinical and educational activities
Skills and Experience
  • Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience OR currently classified as a Clinical Nurse or holds an Associate Nurse Unit Manager position
  • Experience in the supervision of students, Assistants in Nursing, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses
  • Effective and highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, and leadership
  • Ability to undertake specialist assessment of children with complex developmental problems
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a workplace environment that develops staff potential.
