Job summary

Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking Enrolled/Registered/Clinical Nurses to join our team. Roles are casual, part-time or full-time, with a strong patient-service focus and commitment to ongoing service improvement.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain patient records, educate patients and families, monitor responses to treatments, ensure infection control, and assist in orienting new staff.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration (no restrictions).
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and clinical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Experience with administering chemotherapy and CVADs is desirable but not required; willingness to learn if not experienced.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans for patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, symptoms, medications, and progress notes.
• Educate patients and their families on various aspects of healthcare, including disease prevention, self-care techniques, and post-treatment instructions.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatments and medications.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organised patient care environment.
• Assist in the orientation and training of new staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
