Queensland Government’s Redland Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Diabetes to provide expert diabetes care across adult and paediatric services, lead education for patients, families and staff, and drive best-practice guidelines.

You will work with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team to improve clinical governance, mentoring colleagues and promoting evidence-based practice within Queensland's public health system.

Your new role:Make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with diabetes by providing expert clinical leadership, specialist education and high-quality, person-centred care. As the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Diabetes, you will support the delivery and continuous improvement of Diabetes and Endocrinology services for both adult and paediatric patients across Bayside Health Service. You will:Provide advanced clinical expertise, consultancy and direct and indirect nursing care to patients living with diabetes, supporting safe, evidence-based practice and positive patient outcomes.Lead and deliver diabetes education for patients, families and healthcare professionals, providing specialist advice on patient assessment, care planning, contemporary insulin systems and diabetes management.Collaborate with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and multidisciplinary team to drive clinical governance, quality improvement, clinical redesign and the implementation of best-practice guidelines and protocols.Champion professional development through clinical mentoring, coaching, education and research, fostering a positive learning culture and supporting excellence in diabetes care.About you:You are an experienced and passionate nursing professional with advanced clinical knowledge in diabetes management and a commitment to improving outcomes for patients and their families. You bring strong clinical leadership, a collaborative approach and a drive to promote contemporary, evidence-based practice.
